Transport

FROM THE AIRPORT

By Train

You can take the S7 express train to Wien Mitte (also called "Wien Landstraße") or Wien Praterstern or the Railjet to Wien Hauptbahnhof or Wien Meidling. At all four stations you then have the option of changing to the underground.

The ÖBB ticket counters and ticket machines are located directly in the arrivals hall of the airport and just before the platforms. It´s possible (and 0,20€ cheaper) to book the ticket online or via app (iOS or Android), too.

Price:
4,40€ for adults (€2 for the ticket from the airport to the Vienna city limits + €2,40 for the journey in Vienna's core zone).

Journey time:
approx. 25 minutes with the S7, 15 minutes with the Railjet.
Both usually run at 30-minute intervals. All timetables of the S7 and the Railjet can be found here.

The Railjet travels directly without stopover to Vienna Central Station, where you can change to the underground line U1. The station after Vienna Central Station is Wien Meidling with the possibility to change to the underground line U6. With the S7 you can change at Wien Mitte/Landstraße to the underground lines U3 and U4 and at Praterstern to the undergorund lines U1 and U2.

ATTENTION: The trains of the ÖBB are red/grey. The trains of the City Airport Train are green. ÖBB tickets are not valid on City Airport Train trains. We don't recommend using the CAT since this option is far more expensive without a real time benifit.

By Bus

There are three bus lines that run from the airport to Vienna. These are the Vienna Airport Lines to Vienna Central Station, Schwedenplatz, Westbahnhof or Donauzentrum. The journey time is 30 to 60 minutes.

Line VAL 1 goes to Westbahnhof (change to underground line U3) and Hauptbahnhof (change to underground line U1). Line VAL 2 goes to Schwedenplatz (change to underground line U1 and U4) and line VAL 3 goes to Donauzentrum.

Price:
€10,50 for adults (€17,50 return).

Tickets can be purchased online here, from the bus driver (cash only) or from appropriate ticket machines at the airport.

By Taxi

The taxi stops are located directly at the exit of the airport. If you get into a taxi on the spot, you do not pay a fixed price for the ride, but according to the taximeter (approx. 40-50 € per ride).

You can book a taxi in advance by calling +43 1 31300, +43 1 40100 or +43 160160 and pay a fixed price of €36. The journey takes 30-50 minutes, depending on traffic and destination.
